UNCA First Responders Chaplain Corps (FRCC)
Rapid Response Teams (RRT) are deployed by UNCA Chaplains to support communities and local/federal emergency response agencies in the midst of crisis and disasters. They are trained as Event Based Responders (EBR) through Camden University and Graduate School of Theology. The pre-requisite course Fundamentals of Chaplaincy Certificate Program. In partnership with FEMA, The American Red Cross, and various professional agencies, the UNCA is focused on responding to events within the continental U.S. and Caribbean. Our highly-trained members are carefully selected and trained to demonstrate the compassion of Christ while providing tangible solutions to disaster stricken communities in areas such as:
UNCA Rapid Response Teams strive to deploy into a community within 24 hours to investigate damages while sending team members within 48 hours to support preliminary efforts. Through training, UNCA members are also equipped to treat the three life-threatening injuries by opening airways, controlling bleeding, and treating for shock. Members are also trained to provide basic medical aid, search for and rescue victims safely, as well as organize agencies and spontaneous volunteers to be effective.
The UNCA provides specialized first responders chaplains and support teams with applicable skills and experience accrued through mentor-guided field hours and continuing education offered through Camden University Graduate School of Theology.
